UNB, Mymensingh :
An assistant presiding officer was killed as a tractor rammed his motorcycle at Jhalua in Nandail upazila on Saturday night.
The deceased was identified as Ripan Kumar Datta, deputy assistant agriculture officer of Gouripur upazila.
Saiful Islam, officer-in-charge of Nandail Police Station, said a tractor rammed the motorcycle carrying Ripon in the area at about 9:00 pm while he was returning home after his election duty in Gouripur upazila, leaving him dead on the spot.
Police recovered the body and sent it to a hospital morgue for autopsy.
A case was filed in this connection.
