The Gram Bikash Kendra has distributed assistive devices among disabled people in Gangachara, Rangpur.
On Tuesday morning, at Gangachara Upazila Parishad Chattar, in collaboration with the European Union and Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF), assistive devices were distributed under the Pathways to Prosperity Extremely Poor People (PPEPP-EU) project.
Gangachara Upazila Executive Officer Mahmud Hasan Mridha attended as the chief guest, while Gangachara Union Parishad Chairman Md. Mahafuzar Rahman was present as the special guest.
Other dignitaries included Upazila Social Service Officer Md. Mosaddekur Rahman, Upazila Cooperative Officer Md. Abtabuzzaman, Project Coordinator Dr. Md. Shamsur Rahman, and Gram Bikash Kendra Technical Officer for Community Mobilization Md. Ziaur Rahman, among others, who delivered speeches.
To enhance the communication and mobility capabilities of people with disabilities, a total of 19 disabled individuals from Gangachara Union and Alambiditar Union received assistive devices, including 5 wheelchairs, 12 hearing aids, 1 elbow crutch, and 1 four-legged walking stick
