Asif proposes stronger sports ties between Bangladesh and Morocco

A bilateral meeting took place in Rabat on Wednesday between Bangladesh Youth and Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain and Moroccan Minister of National Education, Preschool, and Sports Mohammed Saad Berrada, aiming to boost cooperation in the fields of education and sports.
Minister Berrada highlighted Morocco’s integrated approach to education and sports, with special focus on the country’s “Study and Sports” model, which has helped reduce school dropout rates. He also spoke about Morocco’s policies to expand access to preschool education.
Adviser Asif Mahmud praised the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and congratulated Morocco on its advancements in education and sports. He noted that Morocco’s integrated model could serve as a global example.
Proposing deeper collaboration, Asif Mahmud called for increased technical cooperation, training, and experience sharing in sports. He also suggested holding a friendly football match between the national teams of Bangladesh and Morocco, and invited Minister Berrada to the upcoming Global Youth Summit 2025.
In response, the Moroccan minister lauded Bangladesh’s progress in youth development and education. He shared Morocco’s efforts to make classrooms more engaging through digital tools and the establishment of a national database for student data to enhance policy planning.
Both sides expressed hope that the meeting would pave the way for stronger bilateral cooperation in education and sports, reinforcing ties between the two nations.
