Youth and Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain has dismissed allegations that the government is concealing the actual number of casualties from Monday’s Air Force jet crash at Milestone School and College in Uttara.
In a statement posted on his verified Facebook page, the adviser said, “The claim that casualty figures are being hidden is completely false.”
He asserted that the government, along with the army, school authorities, and hospital officials, is working collectively to compile and release a complete and accurate list of the deceased and injured.
“The government is providing all necessary support to the victims and their families,” the statement added. Shojib further noted that efforts are underway to verify the identities of all the deceased, with DNA tests being conducted for those bodies that remain unrecognizable.
The adviser assured that the injured are receiving the highest level of medical care at multiple hospitals across Dhaka.
He also urged anyone with missing family members to immediately contact the school. A control room has been established on campus, and authorities are reviewing student registries and records to determine if any students are still unaccounted for.
