Sheikh Arif Bulbon :

A man has been accused of raping a woman after entering her house in Muradnagar Upazila of Cumilla recently.

Police have arrested Fajr Ali, the main accused in the case. Four other accused persons have also been arrested.

The general public is protesting this rape incident. Everyone has come out to demand punishment for the accused.

Showbiz stars are not far behind. Many people, from directors, actors, and artists, are protesting against such incidents.

Actress Azmeri Haque Badhon protested and wrote on social media, “Rape is a terrible crime. But in this country, it has been considered normal for a long time. People only talk about it when a tragic incident goes viral, a video clip, a social media post.

Then suddenly everyone is outraged. But it’s for a short time. Quickly, people move on, forget everything because every day is not the birth of a new drama, a new scandal… We consider rape as news, not as a crisis.

Worse still, some people record these crimes, share them, and spread them on social media as entertainment. They are not innocent either. They are part of the crime.

They need to be held accountable. I am heartbroken, very angry, and, yes, I am also scared because, I am a woman, and I don’t feel safe in this country – neither in real life, nor in virtual life.”

Demanding the execution of the culprit, film actor Misha Sawdagor wrote, “May every person in the country live in peace. May every woman be safe? May justice be served for every injustice? May every rapist be hanged? I strongly condemn and deplore the rape that took place in Muradnagar. I demand the hanging of the rapist.”

Actress Mousumi Hamid protested and wrote, “Humans are no longer human. The world is ending. Soon there will be no more humans.”

Actress Nusraat Faria wrote, “Stop Rape.”

Actress Prarthana Fardin Dighi wrote, “Say no to rape. Stand up against it… Stop rape.”

Actress Tama Mirza wrote, “Muradnagar, Cumilla! Horrible! Shame…!”

TV actor Arosh Khan wrote, “When cowardice reaches the stage of cowardice, it is no longer cowardice. Unless one is born without identity, it is not possible to do this to a woman.”

Musician Lutfor Hasan wrote, “We are happy when a criminal is arrested. We stop. Only after we stop does the real process begin. Eventually the criminal is released, fled abroad, and changed places in the country. …An important chapter in history on the implementation of criminal punishment, demands to ensure the punishment of criminals.”

Director Noim Imtiaz Neyamul stated, “The current situation in Bangladesh is both a comedy and a painful tragedy. The entire country seems like a giant laboratory, and the responsibility for that test has been given to someone who has no knowledge or sense of responsibility. It’s like a stick in a monkey’s hand. … Bangladesh is now in the same situation where a monkey has a stick in its hand, and the country is just enduring.”

Singer Shithi Saha wrote, “What country am I in? I just saw this? Hate, hate, hate…!”

Film actor Joy Chowdhury wrote, “I strongly condemn and condemn what happened to the woman in Muradnagar, Cumilla. I want justice for both the person who raped me and the person who later made the video public.”

Film actor Ziaul Roshan mentioned, “There is only one punishment for the rapists in the Muradnagar incident in Cumilla – hanging in public. I don’t need to know what party they belong to, what religion they belong to, nor do I want to know. Just want to be hanged in front of the people.”

Singer and actress Parsha Mehjabeen Purnee wrote, “Unveiled Bangladesh.”
