Everyone should remember a reality show called ‘Banglar Gayen’. Rabia Sheto, hailed from Narsingdi, became quite a sensation after participating in this reality show.

This reality show, which took place in 2020, attracted the attention of viewers across the country. Because during the Corona period, when no one wanted to leave the house, the contestants took that time as a challenge and participated in this reality show. And Rabia Sheto became the first runner-up by participating in the reality show, ‘Banglar Gayen’.

Sheto is daughter of Rahmat Ullah and Shikha Begum. She is studying honour’s in Music at the capital’s Music College. She is hailed from Chhotobonda village of Shibpur in Narsingdi.

Rabia Sheto has been learning music at the Narsingdi Shilpakala Academy since the age of 5. She studied folk songs, Nazrul Sangeet and classical music at the local Academy.

She then took singing lessons from Nitai Saha and Harimohan Debnath. In 2012, 2015, 2016 and 2018, Rabia Sheto won awards for singing at the National Children’s Award Competitions.

She has sung over 50 original songs so far. Among them, especially notable are several other songs, including ‘Saar Ae Tin Haat’ written by A. Mizan and composed by Shawkat Ali Imon, ‘Nogorer Jadughor’, written by Jasim Uddin Akash and composed by Shawkat Ali Imon; ‘Boideshi Bondhu’, written by Ahmed Khosru and composed by Delwar Shahnewaz; ‘Piriter Bazare Agun Lagchhe’, written and also composed by Baul poet Srabon Kazi Shah.

Recently, Rabia Sheto captivated the audience by setting them on fire during stage shows in Barishal, Rangpur, Cumilla, Gazipur and Narsingdi.

Rabia Sheto said that her new original song is going to be released on Eid. She told this correspondent, “As a professional artiste, ‘Banglar Gayen’ has created a platform for me, so that
I can advance myself beautifully in the world of music. For this reason, I am sincerely grateful to ‘Banglar Gayen’. I have gratitude to my Zilla Shilpakala Academy, my two singing gurus, and all the judges of ‘Banglar Gayen’ who have always inspired me. I’m extremely grateful to my parents and sister. I want to establish myself as a true musician by knowing and understanding the details of music. I want to move forward on the path to the future with everyone’s prayers, blessings, and love.”

Sheto’s song titled ‘Chand Ruposhi Konya’ will be released on the upcoming Eid.
