The court has issued an arrest warrant against Abdul Aziz, producer and also owner of Jazz Multimedia. The court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Ehsanul Islam issued this order on
February 19.
Jakia Kamal Moon, the actress of movie ‘Paap’, filed this case.
According to the documents of the case, Moon gave Aziz Tk60 lakh in one time for assistance in the production of the movie through a written agreement dated February 2022.
According to the contract, the movie was supposed to be completed by March of that year. However, Aziz didn’t return the invested money without completing the work on time. After sending a notice and not getting the money, Moon came to know that the producer had sold the movie ‘Paap’ on an oat platform for Tk 1 crore 10 lakh in May 2023.
After that, Aziz refused and threatened to return the money – “If you overdo it, I will destroy your career.”
When asked about this, Jakia Kamal Moon said, “I have repeatedly asked for the money back. But he did not give it. He is not even picking up the phone; on the contrary, he is scaring me. I filed the case out of necessity.”
The lawyer of the case, Abu Sayeed Shimul, said that a case has been filed against Abdul Aziz under sections 406 (breach of trust), 420 (fraud) and 506 (threats) of the Penal Code.
