Interim Chief Advisor Dr Muhammad Yunus said the Bangladesh Army is working alongside the people to uphold the nation’s honour and glory.
He made this remark on Sunday after inspecting the winter maneuver exercise conducted by the 55th Infantry Division of the Bangladesh Army in the Char Khapura and Char Ramnagar areas of the Rajbari Military Training Area (RMTA).
Dr Muhammad Yunus emphasised that the Bangladesh Army is a source of national pride and trust. He urged that to fulfill this commitment, it is essential to inspire soldiers with the mantra “Training is the best welfare.”
He highlighted the importance of modern and relevant training to enhance operational capabilities, ensuring that troops are always prepared to defend the country’s sovereignty. Dr Yunus called for realistic training to foster the skills, bravery, and professionalism necessary for military personnel.
He expressed hope that the Bangladesh Army will continue to move forward with this training objective in mind. The chief advisor praised the skills of the participating soldiers and commended the high standard of training they received.
Earlier on Sunday, at 11:54am, Chief Advisor Dr Muhammad Yunus departed from Dhaka by helicopter. The helicopter carrying him landed at the helipad in Char Khapur of the Kalukhali Military Training Area at approximately 12:36pm.
Upon arriving at the training site, Dr Muhammad Yunus was welcomed by Army Chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman, Navy Chief Admiral M Nazmul Hassan, Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmud Khan, and GOC of the 55th Infantry Division & Area Commander of the Jessore Area Major General JM Emdadul Islam.
He then observed a nearly one-hour maneuver exercise. After the exercise, the chief advisor delivered a closing speech. The event was attended by other advisors, senior officials of the armed forces, and members of the media alongside the chief advisor.
