Sylhet Bureau:
A large amount of drugs, local weapons, multiple cheque books of different banks along with 3 drug dealers have been arrested in an army operation in Golapganj, Sylhet.
The operation was conducted behind the hospital in Dhakadakshin Bazar, Dhakadakshin Union of the upazila on Wednesday evening.
The arrested are Mizanur Rahman, son of Jamir Uddin of Raigarh Batarpara village in Dhaka South Union, Ayesha Begum, wife of Ahmed of Uttar Raigarh village, and Maqbul Ali, son of Chhabed Ali of Uttargaon village in Bhadeshwar union.
It is learned that based on secret information, a group of soldiers from Golapganj Army Camp conducted a raid behind the hospital in Dhaka South Bazar. During this, 14 kg of marijuana, 15 liters of domestic liquor, a large amount of domestic weapons, 5 mobile phones and several check books of different banks were recovered from the houses of the arrested.
Lieutenant Zakaria Masud, Camp Commander of Golapganj Army Camp, confirmed the raid.
