A large quantity of indigenous weapons and bottles of liquor were recovered after searching a room occupied by Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) in Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall of Rangpur Begum Rokeya University (BRU).
On Wednesday, the students demanded that the hall be searched as they felt insecure and suspected of having weapons. Later at 10:30 pm, the hall administration, university administration and Ansar members searched the rooms occupied by BCL. At this time, different types of native weapons and liquor bottles are available from the rooms.
During the search, Ramada, chapati, knife, axe, various indigenous weapons came out one by one from the rooms of Bangabandhu Sheikh MujiburRahman Hall. Apart from this, a large quantity of rods, pipes, bottles of foreign liquor were found in these rooms. At the end of the operation, the recovered weapons were kept in the custody of the university administration. Later they were handed over to the police.
When asked about this, the coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement told reporters that we talked to the students of the hall and informed the hall administration and the university administration about the matter. After the operation, a large quantity of domestic weapons and liquor bottles were recovered.
