Apurba Ranjan’s solo exhibition at AFD

The solo art exhibition of artist Apurba Ranjan Biswas titled Nature and People close to the Nature is going on at the Galerie Zoom of the Alliance Française de Dhaka (AFD) in the city’s Dhanmondi area now.
A total of 20 artworks on acrylic and pen-ink media are on display in the two-week long exhibition.
Olivier Litvine, Director of the AFD, inaugurated the exhibition as the chief guest, while Prof Jamal Ahmed, Chairman of the Department of Drawing and Painting of University of Dhaka, was also present on the occasion.
In the early nineteenth century the artist, graphic designer, architect revealed the theme of the world passionately. On the basis of this clue, artist Apurba Ranjan Biswas furnished his periphery of work. He feels that our reverie country is a hub of beauty.
A piece of pathway, paddy field, small hut altogether has formed an incredible art space. The artist believes that the greatest beauty could be found in Nature. Thus, his only job is to assemblage the beauty of nature in his canvas.
Artist Apurba obtained MFA degree from the Department of Drawing and Painting of the Faculty of Fine Arts of University of Chittagong. He has participated in many group art exhibitions like Young, National, Asian Art Biennale and also took part in many art workshops. In 1990, he achieved the ‘Media Best Drawing Award’ from Chittagong Govt Art College. He has been working in watercolour, acrylic, pen and ink since the early days of his student life. However, his proffered media is acrylic colour. The exhibition will continue till June 19.
