BSS, Dhaka :

The Bangladesh Cricket Board’s (BCB) chief program coordinator Minhajul Abedin Nannu saw the national cricket team’s back-to-back series win over Sri Lanka and Pakistan in T20 format as a positive indicator of progress ahead of the crucial Asia Cup tournament.

“Any series victory is a positive sign,” Minhajul told the reporters on Sunday.

“The series victory is a positive indicator of progress and encourages the players to play well in the next series. Yes in this sense, it is really very positive ahead of the Asia Cup,” he said.

But Minhajul, also a former Bangladesh captain and chief selector of BCB, looked unhappy about the team management’s decision to make sweeping changes in the third and final game against Pakistan.

After taking unassailable 2-0 lead, Bangladesh had the chance to sweep the series and the veteran cricket expert felt that the side should end the series on high.

Bangladesh brought up five changes to the squad for the third game in a bid to give the pacers some rest and try some players.
