Chattogram Bureau :
Chattogram City Corporation Mayor Rezaul Karim Chowdhury said that any establishments by occupying the river-canal will be demolished to
reduce the water-logging of the city.
The announcement was made on Monday at the Chattogram Shopping Complex premises in Sholashohor in the Port City.
The Mayor said the government is working around Tk1,000 crore to reduce the waterlogging of Chattogram.
However, no project will be successful unless the people do not behave consciousness.
It is not possible to reduce the waterlogging by the project if the canal is not a normal path due to the occupation of the canals.
Many people become unstable when the water rises in the lower areas of the city.
When the water comes down, he forgets the distress of the waterlogging and the canal-drainage and the canal starts construction.
