Anti-drug and environmental discussion held in Khulna

A discussion titled “The ill effects of drugs and the role of civil society in protecting the environment and nature” was held at Nirala Adarsh ​​Secondary School in Khulna city on Tuesday. Students, teachers, guardians and local dignitaries were present at the meeting held in the school hall.

The meeting was attended by the Director of the National University Khulna Regional Center, Professor Dr. Shah Alam, as the chief guest. The Deputy Director of the Narcotics Control Department, Khulna District Office, Md. Mizanur Rahman, spoke as the main discussant. In addition, Advocate Tohidur Rahman Tushar and the Officer-in-Charge of Ward No. 24 of Khulna City Corporation, Mr. Anisur Rahman were present as special guests.

The program was presided over by the school’s headmaster Md. Reazol Islam and moderated by Advocate Sheikh Oliul Islam, APP, Khulna.

The speakers said that drugs not only destroy individual lives but also families and society. They emphasized on increasing social awareness to protect the young generation from this menace. At the same time, they called for civil society to play an active role in preserving the environment and nature.
