A businessman was reportedly kidnapped by miscreants for ransom from Sanarpar area under Siddhirganj on Thursday night.The victim was identified as Syed Saiful Islam (35), owner of a departmental store ‘Lamia Supper’ in Sanarpar area. Additional Police Supper of Narayanganj Saidul Islam confirmed this to risingbd. Afrin Sultana, wife of Saiful Islam, said her husband remained missing since 10:00pm on Thursday when he was supposed to return home from his shop. She also said they had got a call from unknown mobile number demanding a ransom of Tk 10 lakh for his release. Meanwhile, locals and relatives of kidnapped businessman demonstrated in the morning on Dhaka-Chittagong Highway in Sanarpar area demanding rescue of Saiful Islam. The protesters also barricaded the highway that created a traffic jam on the both sides of busy highway. — risingbd.com
