Annual sports held at DIU

Annual Sports and Prize Giving Ceremony of Daffodil International University (DIU) was held on Sunday at DIU Auditorium in the city.
Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Board of Trustees, Daffodil International University was the chief guest at the event and distributed prizes among the winners. DIU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr M Lutfar Rahman was the special guest while Founder Vice Chancellor Emeritus Prof Aminul Islam was present as the guest of honour.
Presided over by Prof Dr M. Mizanur Rahman, Treasurer of the university, the function was also addressed by Syed Mizanur Rahman, Director (Student Affairs).
Md Sabur Khan said, the sportsmen who have national level achievement will get full waiver in DIU and who have international achievement in the field of sport will get additional financial support besides full waiver.
He also said, besides education, the university authority is very much concern about the physical, mental and emotional growth of the students and for that the university has already developed world class standard play ground, Basketball ground, Tennis Court, Cricket Stadium, Gymnasium for the students.
An inter university sports meet and carnival will be held in next year at DIU permanent campus with participants of different universities of home and abroad, he informed.
Later, Sabur Khan distributed the prizes and champion and runner up trophy among the winners.
A large number of male and female students of different departments took part in cricket, football, hand ball, basket ball table tennis, chess and athletics.
Textile Engineering Department and Business Administration department showed their best performance in the tournament.
