Abdullah Al Amin, the Central Joint Secretary of the National Citizen’s Committee, has emphasized that if the revolutionary events of July are not officially recognised or given legal and constitutional status, the martyrs and injured individuals will face security risks. He urged all political parties to come together to draft a July Proclamation.

Speaking at a public outreach campaign in Chashara, Narayanganj, on Wednesday to demand the announcement of the July Proclamation, he made this statement.

Earlier in the day, the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement and the National Citizen’s Committee conducted a leaflet distribution campaign in Narayanganj city.

Regarding the initiative, Abdullah Al Amin stated, On December 31 last year, we demanded the proclamation during a gathering at Dhaka’s Central Shaheed Minar. The state had promised to draft the proclamation officially, but we have yet to see any concrete action.

We are conducting this public outreach to ensure the proclamation is drafted as per the government’s commitment. The National Citizen’s Committee and the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement are jointly carrying out this program to generate public opinion and create a wave of support across the country for the proclamation.

He further added, our campaign is ongoing nationwide.
Along with outreach, we plan to hold public meetings. In Narayanganj, the campaign will cover all seven police stations. Different teams will continue this work daily until January 14. We aim to deliver the message of this proclamation to people from all walks of life.
