Hollywood actress Jennifer Aniston, 56, has opened up
about her decision not to have children, saying she has now reached a place of ‘peace’ and ‘comfort’ after years of speculation, paparazzi scrutiny and the challenges of motherhood.
The ‘Friends’ star recently explained his reasons for being childless on the ‘Armchair Expert’ podcast, insisting that it was now beyond his control. “It’s (not having children) very peaceful,” Aniston told the podcast hosts. “But I will say, there comes a time when it’s completely out of my control. Honestly, there’s nothing I can do about it.”
Aniston also spoke about the idea of adoption, explaining why it didn’t feel right to her. “When people say, ‘You can adopt,’ I didn’t want to adopt. I wanted my own DNA to be in a little human being. Whether it was selfishness or whatever, that’s how I wanted it,” Aniston said.
Aniston noted that while she has occasionally felt that they might have had better children with a particular partner, that feeling usually passes ‘within three seconds.’ According to her, when things get out of hand, a kind of ‘romanticism’ comes into play.
The actress said she tried to get pregnant through IVF treatment after years of speculation about her personal life. In a 2022 interview with Allure magazine, she said she did not freeze her eggs.
“I have no regrets,” Aniston says firmly on the podcast. “I feel a little relieved now, because now I don’t have that ‘Can I do it? Maybe, maybe, maybe’ feeling anymore. I don’t have to think about it anymore.” She simply says, “It may not have been in the plan.”
