A person was killed and 15 others injured in a tripartite clash between two factions of Awami League and police in Tikari Bazar in Jhenaidah district on Saturday night.
Iqbal Bahar Chowdhury, officer-in-charge (OC) of sadar police station, said a person was killed in the clash.
He said two groups of local Awami League engaged in a clash with lethal weapons. Later, police opened several rounds of bullets to calm the situation.
“The person might have been killed during the firing,” said the OC.
