AL leaders constructing shops violating court order in Boalmari

Shops are allegedly being constructed by some people violating the court order on 17 decimal of land adjacent to Boalmari Sub-Registrar Office with the assistance of a section of officials of Upazila Land Office.
The land office orally permitted the persons to set up shops in the disputed land, but it has not given them any written papers like DCR.
Those persons began to construct shops since 9 October. Most of the Illegal possessors are local influential leaders of Awami League (AL). The market price of this land is now near about taka one crore .
Sources of Sub-Registrar office said, this is khas land is located at Kamargram Mouza. in Boalmari municipality area . Boalmari Sub-Registrar office was established on this land.
The owner of the land said , 47 decimals land was originally owned by Zaminder (Land Lord) Kanok Lata Roy. She donated the whole 47 decimal land to build the Sub-Registrar office for public interest but the Settlement Department wrongly recorded the land as government Khas land in Khatian No. 1. To correct the record of rights , Boalmari Sub-Registrar Sayed Nazrul Islam filed Title Suit No. 30/2009 in joint district judge court of Faridpur.
Surveyor of Boalmari Upazila Land Office Sohel Rana said, the vacant land adjacent to Boalmari Sub-Registrar office has been verbally handed over to 30 persons to build shops but no DCR has been supplied. He said, I don’t know about court’s order.
Assistant Commissioner (Land) of Boalmari Shoriful Islam said, processing to lease the land is going on. But the land has not yet leased out.
Sub-Registrar of Boalmari Rezaul Karim said, court has passed a stay order over the land. But the establishment work is going on though the court’s order is still in force.
Lawyer of the plaintiff (Boalmari Sub-Registrar office) Advocate Subal Chandra Saha said, court has passed stay order over the land. No body has opportunity to built any establishment on that land now.
For that reason the salvaging work of the ship is hampered. He also added, another salvaging ship will join the works and it will mainly conduct the salvage works.
It may be mentioned here that the cargo ship MV. Zia Raj laden with 510 metric tones of coal sank in the channel Pashur of Mongla Port at Harbaria point on October 27 while it was going from Harbaria area to Noapara in Jessore district.
