The 58th Bishwa Ijtema’s second segment wrapped up with the Akheri Munajat, taking place on the banks of the Turag River in Tongi, Gazipur.
Maulana Yusuf bin Saad, the eldest son of India’s Maulana Saad Kandhalvi, led the final prayer session in Urdu, starting at 12:37pm and concluding at 1:07pm On Sunday.
Following the munajat, the surroundings of Tongi’s Turag bank and the Ijtema ground resonated with chants of “Ameen, Ameen,” marking the conclusion of the 58th Bishwa Ijtema.
Before that, a sermon was delivered by Maulana Morsalin (from Delhi Nizamuddin) after Fajr, which was translated into Bengali by Maulana Mufti Azim Uddin of Bangladesh. At around 9:30am, a sermon on guidance (Hedayat) was given by Maulana Yusuf, with the translation provided by Maulana Munir bin Yusuf from Bangladesh.
To facilitate the return of worshippers, the railway department organized eight special trains, with all but five of them making stops at Tongi station. In addition, extra traffic police were deployed to manage the flow of vehicles on highways surrounding the Ijtima grounds, ensuring the safe and efficient return of devotees after the event.
This year’s Ijtima saw participation from nearly 1,500 foreign attendees from 49 countries. Unfortunately, reports indicate that three worshippers have passed away during the second segment of the event. The first phase took place from January 31 to February 2, followed by the second phase from February 3 to 5, with participants adhering to the teachings of the Tablighi Jamaat’s Alami Shura.
