Entertainment Report :
During the students-people movement, a secret What’sApp group called ‘Alo Ashbei’ was formed with pro-Awami League artistes.
Members of that group were criticised after the fall of the Awami League government on August 5, 2024.
A recent report on a YouTube channel claimed that actress Airin Sultana was a member of that group.
Airin is upset about this. She has threatened to take legal action, alleging that she is being lied to.
Airin Sultana wrote on Facebook, “Why are these lies being spread about me? Recently, someone on a YouTube channel called Nagorik TV has been intentionally spreading misleading information about me. I was involved with the infamous ‘Alo Ashbei’ group of the previous fascist government and worked for them. Yet, throughout the entire movement, I was vocal in many ways in favor of the movement and against the indiscriminate genocide.”
Airin wrote, threatening legal action, “I’m not, and have never been, affiliated with any political party. Therefore, I have decided to take legal action against whoever is spreading such slanderous and false news about me.”
The heroine has given 24 hours to apologise to those who are spreading lies. She wrote in this regard, “If I can’t present clear evidence of my involvement in ‘Alo Ashbei’ group, then within the next 24 hours they will have to publicly apologise to me selflessly and express regret. Otherwise, I will file a defamation case against the YouTube channel called Nagorik TV and everyone involved for this malicious attempt to tarnish my reputation.”
