Business Report :
Air Astra, a private Bangladeshi airline, is preparing to launch international passenger services as part of its growth strategy. To facilitate this expansion, the airline released a public notice yesterday on its official website and social media channels, inviting proposals for the acquisition of three to four Airbus A320 or A321 aircraft.
Shakib Hasan Shuvo, Deputy Manager at Air Astra, shared with the media, “We are in the process of launching international flights to destinations like Nepal and Phuket. Once the aircraft acquisition is complete, we’ll move forward accordingly.”
The airline is open to acquiring the aircraft through dry lease, operating lease, or outright purchase.
Air Astra emphasized that only legitimate leasing firms or airlines with aircraft in their own fleets are eligible to submit proposals. Submissions from brokers or intermediaries, even those with mandates, will not be considered.
Interested parties have been directed to download the Request for Proposal (RFP) documents from a specified link and ensure submission within the said deadline.
Should the aircraft procurement proceed as planned, Air Astra intends to initiate international operations by 2025.
Since commencing operations in 2022, Air Astra has built a solid footprint in the domestic aviation sector. The airline currently flies to several key destinations, including Dhaka, Cox’s Bazar, Chattogram, Saidpur, and Jashore. Venturing into international skies marks a significant milestone in the airline’s continued growth and expansion.
