The waters surrounding Shamim Hasan Sarkar and Ahona Rahman’s love affair were not without controversy at one time.

Ahona feels that Shamim brought up the subject of Ahona to divert attention from the rape allegations.
In her words, Ahona said, “Have I ever mentioned anyone’s name anywhere? Then what is the reason behind mentioning my name? To cover up the rape allegations against him? Maybe he thought rape was only physical.
Rape can also be done verbally. He (Shamim) abused the actress Priyanka in front of everyone. He does these things, that’s why I stopped working with him.”
Regarding ‘double timing’, Ahona said, “What ‘double timing’? I’m a woman. How can he say these things about me in public! Have I said yet that I love Shamim? I haven’t. While working with Shamim, the relationship was moving in the other direction.
I didn’t let it go because, I couldn’t get out of the previous person at that time. And what did Shamim do! 80 per cent of the media call him ‘sick’. They may not say it in front of him. But they say it behind his back.”
