Agrani Bank Cricket Club defeated Shinepukur Cricket Club by 46 runs in their sixth match of the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) Cricket at the BKSP Ground-4 in Savar on Wednesday.
Opting to bat first, the Bankers’ team piled up a mammoth total of 294 for the loss of seven wickets in the allotted 50 overs and then restricted Shinepukur to 248 for the loss of five wickets in 50 overs.
Imrul Kayes of Agrani Bank Cricket Club hit a captain’s knock of 86. His 85-ball innings was belted with four fours and a sixer. Imrul Kayes was adjudged the Man of the Match.
In-form Shadman Islam knocked a fine 53. He hit six fours in his 66-ball innings.
Amite Hasan made 41 from 54 deliveries featuring four fours.
Rayan Rafsan and Mohammad Walid bagged two wickets each conceding 49 and 62 runs respectively.
Rayan Rafsan restored some parity for Shinepukur hitting an unbeaten century. Rayan remained unbeaten with 106. His 130-ball innings had seven fours and two sixes.
Nayeem Hasan and Arif Ahmed grabbed two wickets each instead of 34 and 41 runs respectively.
At the BKSP Ground-3 in Savar, Rupganj Tigers Cricket Club beat Partex Sporting Club by four wickets in their sixth match of the DPL Cricket.
Chasing Partex’s fighting total of 223 off 49.4 overs, Rupganj reached the winning target in the last ball of 50th over making 225 for the loss of six wickets.
Abdul Majid of Rupganj remained unbeaten with 100 runs. His 123-ball innings was belted with five fours and two sixes. Abdul Majid was adjudged the Man of the Match.
Earlier, Joyraj Sheikh and Rubel Mia of Partex hit 54 and 52 runs respectively.
Al-Amin jr and Mahmudul Hasan captured three wickets each giving 17 and 46 runs respectively.
At the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the capital’s Mirpur, Gulshan Cricket Club edged past Brothers Union Limited by two wickets in their sixth match of the DPL Cricket.
Trailing Brothers Union’s massive total of 290 for the loss of nine wickets in 50 overs, Gulshan Cricket Club romped home making 294 for the loss of eight wickets remaining with nine deliveries.
Mohammad Elias and Naeem Islam of Gulshan hit 53 and 50 runs respectively. Farhad Reza remained unbeaten with 47 runs. Farhad was adjudged the Man of the Match.
Sohag Gazi of Brothers claimed four wickets in the space of 44 runs.
Earlier, Bishal Chowdhury of Brothers Union top-scored with 83 runs.
Besides, Aich Molla and Mizanur Rahman scored 65 and 50 runs respectively.
Nihad Uz Zaman and Asaduzzaman Payel captured three wickets each in lieu of 40 and 62 runs respectively.
