Agrani Bank Cricket Club reached the ‘Super League’ of the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) Cricket defeating Legends of Rupganj by 89 runs in their last league match at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the capital’s Mirpur on Sunday.
Agrani Bank Cricket Club confirmed their ‘Super League’ berth bagging 14 points from 11 matches. Agrani Bank took the fifth position in the points table. Legends of Rupganj also confirmed their ‘Super League’ berth earning 13 points from 11 matches. They stood the sixth position.
Dhaka Abahani Limited and Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club confirmed their ‘ Super League’ berth grabbing 18 points each from 11 matches. By virtue of better run rate, Dhaka Abahani Limited took the top position and Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited took the second position.
Besides, Gazi Group Cricketers reached the ‘Super League’ with 16 points from 11 outings. They took the third spot in the points table. Gulshan Cricket Club also reached the ‘Super League’ earning 15 points from 11 matches. They took the fourth position.
Sent into bat first, Agrani Bank Cricket Club piled up a mammoth total of 306 for the loss of six wickets in the stipulated 50 overs and then all out Legends of Rupganj for 217 off 40.1 overs.
Opener Shadman Islam of Agrani Bank Cricket Club was his team’s highest scorer with making 87 runs, while Amite Hasan made 59 runs and their teammate Imranuzzaman hit 50 runs and Marshall Ayub hit a captain’s knock of 48.
Rejaur Rahman Raja of Legends of Rupganj was the highest wicket taker for his team bagging two wickets for 47 runs.
Later, Mahmudul Hasan Joy, Soumya Sarkar, Akbar Ali and Afif Hossain of Legends of Rupganj made notable score with 33, 32, 31and 29 runs respectively.
Robiul Haque captured four wickets in the space of 39 runs, while Shohidul Islam and Arif Ahmed bagged two wickets each.
Besides, Shuvagata Hom and Taibur Rahman took one wicket apiece.
