Afzal Hossain and Afsana Mimi together after 22 years

Afzal Hossain, an evergreen actor
of the Bangladesh theatre scene, has acted in a telefilm titled ‘Mohakaler Thik Moddhikhane’ made for the upcoming Eid. Noted actress Afsana Mimi acted opposite Afzal Hossain after more than 22 years. The telefilm is written by Faria Hossain and directed by Arif Khan who usually makes plays/telefilms based on stories of Faria Hossain. In the meantime, shooting of the telefilm has been completed. The telefilm has been made to be aired on Channel i next Eid.
While talking about acting in the telefilm, Afzal Hossain told this correspondent, “As far as I remember, I acted in a drama with Mimi more than 22 years ago. After that, it was not possible to work with Mimi. The telefilm’s story is a very different story. As Mimi and I acted in a telefilm after a long time, we both had a different liking. Both characters are very emotional characters. Let’s skip the story of the two, actually about their children. Because of the very emotional story, I feel that this telefilm is not like the story of regular five-seven dramas. That’s why I’m acting in it.”
On the other hand, Afsana Mimi said, “I have acted with Afzal Bhai that much is actually enough. But to be honest, when I acted in drama ‘Vokatta’ 22 years ago, I was afraid and I don’t know why I was afraid. And now that I have worked under the understanding of Afzal Bhai, there was a fear of not being able to do well. But it is true that when Arif Khan proposed to me, I had no chance to say anything. If I have to talk about the experience of working on this telefilm, I would say that while rehearsing, Afzal Bhai prepared the script for me personally, it was a great achievement for me. And seeing Afzal Bhai, I understand that big people belong to everyone. I give special thanks to Arif Khan for creating such an opportunity.”
Director Arif Khan informed that the telefilm ‘Mohakaler Thik Moddhikhane’ will be aired on Channel i next Eid.
Meanwhile, the programme ‘Afzal Hossain O Tar Nayikara’ will be aired on Channel i’s online platform, i-Screen. Afzal Hossain’s 35 heroines participated in this programme.
It is mentioned that more than 22 years ago, Afzal Hossain and Afsana Mimi acted in the drama titled ‘Vokatta’ directed by Mostafa Sarwar Farooki.
