Following his performance in Dammam earlier this month, popular Bangladeshi rock icon Nagar Baul James is set to perform in Jeddah as part of Saudi Arabia’s ‘Passport to the World’ event series initiated under the government patronage.
The Dammam leg of the concert took place on May 2 at Al Khobar’s Al Iskan Park, where James enthralled a massive crowd of expatriates. He is scheduled to take the stage in Jeddah on May 9.
Announcing the upcoming Jeddah performance, a post on James’ official Facebook page read, “Dear brothers and sisters living in Saudi Arabia, see you in Jeddah on May 9.”
Although singer Porshi did not participate in the Dammam concert, she is set to perform in Jeddah on May 7.
Notably, she also performed during last year’s Riyadh Season.
On the following day, May 8, popular singer Imran Mahmudul will take the stage in Jeddah. He earlier performed in the Dammam segment of ‘Passport to the World’.
On May 2, James’s concert in Dammam drew a sea of fans, with Bangladeshi expatriates travelling from various cities across the country to attend.
By the afternoon, a large crowd had already gathered at the venue, growing steadily as the evening progressed.
The audience erupted in cheers as James’s name appeared on the stage screen after sundown. All eyes were fixed on the stage, phones in hand, ready to capture the moment.
He performed a string of his popular hits including ‘Maa’, ‘Ashbar Kale Ashlam Eka’, ‘Dushtu Chheler Dol’, ‘O Bijli’, ‘Beder Meye Josna’, ‘Sundoritoma Aamar’, ‘Pagla Hawa’, and ‘Bhigi Bhigi’.
Videos from the performance have since gone viral across social media platforms.
