After 60 hrs shuttle train movement becomes normal in Ctg

Bangladesh Railway Staff and Sramik Sangham Samiti (Bangladesh Railway Running Staff and Employees’ Association) has said that the movement of the shuttle train is returning to normal after being stopped for almost 60 hours due to the injury of a student in the shuttle train.

Shafiqul Alam, publicity secretary of the organization, said, “We have spoken to the university authorities.

We had 6-point demands.

Due to the assurance that it will be fulfilled, the train movement will be normal from noon.”

The same information was given by Sholashar Station Master Zainal Abedin.

He told that even if the train to the university does not run since morning, the 2:50pm train will run as usual.

Earlier, the university authorities held a meeting with the leaders of the Railway Running Staff Association.

Proctor Nurul Azim Shikder and Chief Engineer Tapas Kumar Das were present on behalf of the university.

The organization made 6 demands to the university authorities.

CU Proctor Nurul Azim Sikder said, “We have spoken to the railway running staff’s organization regarding the movement of trains.

Train movement will be normal from noon.

They have some demands.

I promised to fulfill it.”

On Thursday night, 16 students were seriously injured in a collision with a fallen tree in Chowdhury Hat area while sitting on the roof of a shuttle train bound for university from Chittagong.

As a result of this incident, when the shuttle train reached the university station on that day, the enraged students assaulted the locomasters.

Later, Chittagong University vandalized various buildings including the residence of the Vice-Chancellor.

About half a hundred small and big vehicles of the university transport pool were vandalized.
