Bangladesh Under-20 Women’s Football team confirmed their berth in the final round of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Under-20 Women’s Asian Cup recently. They took part in the AFC Under-20 Women’s Asian Cup Qualifiers at Laos recently. After earning the feat, they returned to the country around two weeks ago. They again went to Laos to take part for Royal Thimpu College Club of Bhutan in AFC Women’s Champions League Qualifiers. Afeida Khandaker, Tohura Khatun, Shamsunnahar, Shaheda Akter Ripa and Sapna Rani have been enrolled their names for the Bhutanese Club.
Defending champions Bangladesh Women’s Football team clinched the SAFF Women’s Championship title for several times. But any Bangladesh women’s football club could not take part in the AFC Women’s Champions League Qualifiers. Ritu Porna Chakma played for Royal Thimpu College Club in the AFC Women’s Champions League Qualifiers in the edition of last year. Sabina Khatun could not compete in the AFC Women’s Champions League Qualifiers due to complications of registration.
Afeida Khandaker and Sapna Rani will return home after playing in the AFC Women’s Champions League Qualifiers in Laos. Rest of the three booters will play in the Bhutan Women’s Football League. The competition will be held until November. Royal Thimpu College are the defending champions of the Bhutan Women’s Football League.
