Entertainment Report :
Actress Azmeri Haque Badhon was active from the beginning of
the anti-discrimination movement in solidarity with the students.
She took to the streets to speak for the students. Because of this, she had to be a victim of trolls on social media.
It was being said that Badhon was trying to implement a political agenda in this movement by sharing her old photos with various political figures. She recently talked about this.
The actress said, “I have been harassed since before the student movement. I was not even given a visa to India four times due to having a picture with Nurul Haq Nur, the former VP of Dhaka University.”
“The kind of cyber-bullying I’ve been subjected to since my solidarity with the students has been terrible. I was being targeted with a picture with Rumin Farhana. Rumin is my friend. Can she not be my friend? I have pictures with the former prime minister along with people from different political parties. Not that I like them all. The number of people who do not have pictures with me is less. Because, I like to take pictures a lot,” Badhon added.
Badhon was invited to be the official jury of the 15th Bangalore International Film Festival held last February.
However, the actress could not attend the festival because she did not get a visa. Although she did not say anything at that time, Badhon said that she was not given a visa because she had a picture with VP Nur.
Regarding talking in this regard, Badhon told this correspondent, “I have worked in Kolkata, and I have also worked in Bollywood. However, my application was rejected because of the picture with Nur. I took the picture with VP Nur on the Foundation Day at the US Embassy. Many people asked me to delete this picture. But I didn’t do that. But for this reason I have been rejected four times in giving Indian visa. I have been told to delete the picture and say sorry. I have to say that I forgot. But I didn’t do that because; I have not forgotten the picture. No one can force me to say this. It is not a crime. If someone deprives me of something for this, it is their problem, not mine.”
