The movie ‘Mayurakshi’ was released in only two cineplexes on Eid-ul-Azha. The movie
went down from the theatres within two weeks.
However, the movie’s director Rashid Polash and actress Eamin Haque Bobby’s counter-complaints are still under discussion.
Actress Bobby has made allegations against the director on various issues including the production of the movie, promotion, and the employment of the crew.
There has been an argument between the two. The news of the heroine raising her hands on the director has spread.
Bobby claimed that the director spent twice the budget given to the production company.
A director should first know how much budget a good movie needs.
After the start of shooting, director said about the lack of budget. The production company, AJ International Company has spent as much as it promised to make a good movie. The production company is new.
They told me, ‘Apu, your name is mentioned as a heroine, so we have invested so much money.’ “But after watching the screen I was not satisfied.
I did not see the story that I heard on the screen. The director cheated himself while showing the story of cheating,” Bobby told this correspondent.
“What director Rashid Palash said is true; the budget of this movie was increased. Initially the budget was Tk30 lakh.
Later, I saw that the movie we want to make will not be made with this money. After informing the producer, they said, there is no problem, we are on your side, you do the work, where the money has been spent.
All the accounts have been given. Now these allegations are baseless and purposeful,” Bobby also said.
“Even though the film’s budget has increased, many crews have complained to me about their dues. They told me, ‘Apu, you are senior, talk to the director.’
After telling the matter to the production company, I came to know that there is a lot of trouble with them. Now I hear that many people have not received the full amount yet,” Bobby added.
While talking about these allegations, director Rashid Polash told this correspondent, “The workers are given their payment money every day.
However, many are demanding more. It may be so. The movie has been made for about two to three years. They can demand more from that place. Trying to convince them of our place. But not everyone can be properly pleased.
It’s not a big production. It should be understood by everyone. And the agreement with Bobby, that amount has been given to her. It is not that she was given Tk 3 lakh instead of Tk 5 lakh. But now if she wants more money, what can be done?”
Meanwhile, Bobby alleged, “What is the point of the story if you don’t establish her on the screen? It’s a heroine centric movie. But that character was not fully developed.
Even though schedule was given, many of my scenes were not shot.
Not as much as I saw during dubbing. I was told by the production company that I have to perform in the item song of the movie. Later, I found out that it was done by someone else. I have worked with newbies too but never had such a bad experience.”
Regarding these allegations, director Rashid Polash said, “The heroine was in schedule for a long time, but I didn’t shoot many of her scenes – was it just me? The heroine’s ‘call time’ used to be at 11:00am, she used to come at 5:00pm.
Then get ready to stand in front of the camera around 7:00pm. She used to talk about different jobs as soon as the night went off. So, I could not shoot some scenes. Besides, she used to read her own costumes and make-up.
This was not the way to work. Basically, Bobby did everything except acting. On the set, I didn’t get on with her.
After watching the movie, I said to Bobby, ‘Your scene is short, give it a day. Let’s shoot some scenes. I request her to come at 11:00am. That day she came around 6:00pm. Later, due to the need to match the story, some parts of her shooting had to be thrown away. And in the item song, Bobby was not supposed to do.
This song was not in the movie at first.
Basically I planned the song to increase the duration of the movie. After informing the production company they agreed to it. When told this to Bobby, she said that she must pay her full remuneration first. But the work of the movie was not finished yet. Remuneration was not given before the work was completed. After talking to the producer, we shot the song with Alisha.”
Due to the conflict over ‘Mayurakshi’, there was a fight between the director and the heroine. On the day after Eid, Bobby raised her hands on the director at one stage of eloquent. Ayesha Siddika, the producer of the movie, confirmed this.
But Bobby didn’t admit it but said that she had a fight with director Rashid Polash that day and got angry.
On the other hand, Rashid Polash did not agree to comment on this matter.
