Sylhet Bureau :

Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said that law and order has improved a lot since before.

No more mobs will be tolerated in the future. Strict action will be taken against anyone who wants to take the law into their own hands.

He said these things while talking to reporters after visiting the Airport Police Station in Sylhet on Thursday, April 10.

Also urging everyone to take a stand against the mob, the Home Affairs Advisor said that since all the weapons looted from the police station have not yet been recovered, there will be some security threat if the looted weapons are outside.

However, the overall law and order situation in the country has changed a lot after August 5.

Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury also said that many times the police are late in taking action. Because many cars have been burned. And we have not been able to give them new cars yet.

Therefore, it has not been possible to bring the police back to full capacity yet. Overall, the police have not been restructured yet.

The Home Affairs Advisor expressed hope that the overall condition of the police and law and order will improve further in the coming days.

Stating that it is not enough to just ask the police, we also have to give them something, he said, despite the many shortcomings in the living standards of the police, including food and shelter, the police are doing their best.

We have high expectations from the police, but along with expectations, necessary measures must be taken to improve their living standards and fill the shortcomings.

Is there any update after sending a letter to Interpol against the former Prime Minister? In response to this question, he said, a letter has been sent to Interpol regarding the arrest of Sheikh Hasina. However, there is no new information to share about it yet.

Sylhet Metropolitan Police Commissioner Md. Rezaul Karim, Sylhet Range DIG Md. Mushfequr Rahman, Additional Deputy Police Commissioner Md. Shahriar Alam and senior officials of the administration were present at the time.
