Accused in child murder arrested after 12 years

RAB has arrested sister-in-law Nasir after being on the run for 12 years in the brutal killing of her minor sister-in-law for stopping her ex-wife from trying to kill her in Bhujpur, Fatikchari.
He was arrested from Chunati area of Lohagara on May 28. He is the son of Nuru Ahmad of East Bhujpur area.
According to RAB, in January 2010, Shah Paran of a neighboring village married Delwara Begum in a family affair. Shah Paran’s sister-in-law Nasir alias Nasim was the organiser of this marriage.

But after marriage, Shah Paran started physically torturing his wife on various issues. Unable to bear the torture, Delwara divorced her husband and went to her father’s house within a few days of marriage. Ex-husband got angry and threatened to kill Delwara. Nasir also gets angry with Delwara for divorcing Shah Paran.
Then on April 1 around 4:00am in the morning, Shah Paran entered the in-laws house along with his sister-in-law Nasir and stabbed his wife Delwara. At that time, his younger sister Farhana Yachmin alias Rika Moni and her mother woke up and stopped Shah Paran and stabbed Rika Moni. Rika Moni died on the spot when the neighbors came forward on their screams, Shah Paran and his sister-in-law fled leaving the knife and a blade in their hands. Later, the neighbors rescued Delwara Begum and admitted her to Chattogram Medical College Hospital.
In this incident, Delwara’s mother became the plaintiff and filed a murder case at Bhujpur police station accusing Shah Paran and Nasir. Later, Shah Paran was arrested by the police but was on the run after being released on bail.

On April 9, 2019, the court sentenced Shah Paran to death and Nasir to life imprisonment in this case. Nasir was on the run since the incident.
