The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Tuesday filed a case against former five officials of National Housing Authority (NHA) on charge of committing irregularity about a piece of land.
ACC Deputy Director Mahbubul Alam lodged the case, as plaintiff, with Shahbagh Police Station under ACC Act-1947, Section-5 (2).
NHA former Member Ekramul Huq, its former
Superintendent Engineer Nurul Islam, former Assistant Engineer Muzammel Huq, former Deputy Assistant Engineer Molla Nawsher Ali and former Stenographer Hedayetul Islam have been indicted in the case.
The First Information Report (FIR) stated that the National Housing Authority allocated a piece of land to Faruque Khan in the Rupnagar residential area under Mirpur Thana.
But the alleged accused in collaboration with others and misusing powers gave the plot to one Ali Sarker concealing real information for a bag of money between 2003 and 2011.
On receipt of information, the commission conducted a primary inquiry into the matter and found evidence of the irregularities committed by the accused.
