The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed two separate cases against former State Minister for Industries Kamal Ahmed Majumder and his son, Shaheed Ahmed Majumder, for allegedly acquiring assets inconsistent with their known sources of income.
Meanwhile, the ACC has also decided to issue an order requiring Kamal Ahmed Majumder’s wife, Shahida Kamal, to submit a wealth statement, ACC Director General (Prevention) Md Akhter Hossain told journalists this afternoon.
He stated that Kamal Ahmed Majumder, by misusing state power, amassed assets worth over Tk 12.96 crore, which are inconsistent with his declared sources of income.
Additionally, the ACC discovered that he was involved in suspicious transactions totaling over Tk 296 crore across 10 bank accounts.
His son, Shaheed Ahmed Majumder, also allegedly acquired assets worth approximately Tk 2.39 crore, which exceed his known sources of income, the ACC official said.
Furthermore, the ACC noted that there are no valid income tax documents or bank statements available for Shahida Kamal.
