The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) on Wednesday filed a case against the two officials of Padma Bank PLC (former Farmers Bank Ltd.) for embezzlement of Tk 5 million for approved loans in the name of the customers.
Gulshan Anwar Pradhan, deputy director of Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) filed the case against the alleged officials.
George Cornelius Gomez, former manager of Gulshan South Avenue branch and its credit in-charge Russell Mia at ACC’s Dhaka integrated district office.
Earlier on 29 January, 2019, the bank changed its name instead of Farmers Bank Limited, due to the embezzlement and irregularities of distribution of Tk 700 crore and failed to return Tk 170 million as fixed deposit of customers though the former Home Minister Dr. Muhiuddin Khan Alamgir denied the allegation of the embezzlement.
