Abu Salim’s solo cartoon exhibition

The 4th solo cartoon exhibition of artist Md Abu Salim titled My Beloved Motherland is going on at the Galerie Zoom of the Alliance Française de Dhaka (AFD) in the city’s Dhanmondi area now.
Noted educationist and Professor Emeritus of the University of Dhaka Dr Anisuzzaman inaugurated the exhibition as the chief guest, while eminent cartoonist Ahsan Habib and Director of the AFD Olivier Litvine were also present as special guests on the occasion.  
Olivier Litvine in his welcoming speech explained Md Abu Salim as a fine and courageous artist.
Expressing his sincere gratitude, artist Abu Salim in his speech, dedicated this edition of his exhibition to Dr Anisuzzaman for extending his outstanding support and encouragement for the continuation of his artistic journey ever since 1990.  
Cartoonist Ahsan Habib praised Abu Salim for his expertise as a cartoonist as well as in the watercolour media.
Explaining the artist as a humble but courageous personality, Dr Anisuzzaman in his statement highly praised the artistic skills of Abu Salim and the theme that he chosen for his exhibition. His artwork always speaks for the common people, he added.
The cartoon exhibition, the show of funny caricatures, is Abu Salim’s ardent endeavour to portray the harsh contrast of our societal reality with the essence of the 1971.
With his 4th solo cartoon show, the artist hopes to raise awareness among the audience and the art-lovers.
The exhibition will continue till April 21. n
