Abahani Limited reached the final of the Metropolitan Women’s Cricket League when they crushed Khelaghar SKS by eight wickets in the second semifinal of the Metropolitan Wemen’s Cricket League at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Sunday.
Earlier, Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited confirmed their final berth thrashing Gulshan Youth Club by 99 runs in the first semifinal at the same venue on August 12.
Chasing Khelaghar SKS total of 81 runs off 37.4 overs, Abahani Limited coasted home in just 26.4 overs making 82 for the loss of two wickets.
Sharmin Sultana of Abahani Limited remained undefeated with 51from 81 balls featuring seven boundaries while Lata Mondol made 22 off 43 balls with one four.
Tripti Mondol and Shohaly Akhter of Khelaghar SKS got one wicket each for 13 and 15 runs respectively.
Earlier, Lata Mondol grabbed three wickets at the cost of 15 runs while Sandiha Islam and Khadizatul Kubra bagged a couple of wickets each instead of 12 and 14 runs respectively.
Besides, Rasheda Rahman took one wicket each for six runs.
Skipper Ritu Moni was the only cricketer of Khelaghar SKS who shone with the willow. She hit a captain’s knock of 31 from 37 balls including five fours.
Shohaly Akhter was the other cricketer of Khelaghar who could reach double digit figures scoring 12 off 22 balls with one shot through the fence.
