Dhaka Abahani Limited defeated Youngmens Club Fakirerpool by 4-2 goals in their Federation Cup Football match held at Bashundhara Kings Arena in the capital on Friday.
Dhaka Abahani led the first half 3-0. Dhaka Abahani Limited’s Malian recruit Souleymane Diabate put his team ahead by a penalty kick in the 6th minute of the match.
Sheikh Morsalin doubled the margin in the 33rd minute of the play.
After two minutes, Diabate made it 3-0 by a penalty kick.
Shanto of Youngmens Club Fakirerpool reduced the margin in the 61st minute of the game.
Sheikh Morsalin increased the tally into 4-1 in the 63rd minute of the clash.
Riyad of Fakirerpool decreased the margin in the 69th minute of the match.
Meanwhile, Brothers Union played a goalless draw with Rahmatganj MFS in the day’s other match of the Federation Cup at Martyr Dhirendranath Dutta Stadium in Cumilla.
A total of ten teams splitting into two groups are taking part in the Federation Cup Football. Dhaka Abahani Limited, Youngmens Club Fakirerpool, Rahmatganj MFS, Brothers Union Club and PWD are in Group-A. The next matches of Federation Cup Football will be held on November 2.
Bashundhara Kings are busy in AFC Challenge Cup, while Bangladesh National Football team will play FIFA International friendly matches in FIFA Window of November.
