The Amar Bangladesh Party (AB Party) has announced the names of its candidates for 100 constituencies ahead of the upcoming national election. The announcement was made at a press conference held on Thursday.

Party Chairman Mujibur Rahman Manju revealed the initial list of candidates at the event, which was moderated by the party’s General Secretary Barrister Asaduzzaman Fuad.

“This election marks the beginning of a new political journey for our party,” Manju said.
“We are announcing over a hundred candidates today. However, doubts remain among the public regarding the election’s fairness. With political divisions widening, the interim government must play a stronger and more decisive role.”

He added that a genuinely fair election would only be possible under a capable and assertive government. “We are preparing to contest the maximum number of seats and are also working to form a moderate alliance — not just for electoral purposes, but to preserve the spirit and unity of the July movement,” he said.

General Secretary Barrister Fuad noted that although the current government emerged from a mass uprising, some critics attempt to undermine it by citing constitutional provisions.

“Just as the Muslim League and Awami League once led the independence movement but later faced criticism due to political missteps, we too must learn from history and stay true to the people’s aspirations,” he remarked.
