The historical 5th August is coming again this year. One year of historical August- August of victory, month of upheaval of collective power August. The Month of the Monsoon revolution- blood flooded August. August of fleeing killer, bloody Hasina, shattering familism . That August agitated our life, our philosophy and way of thinking. Before we, basically, the young generation never realised how we loved our motherland.

Justice and reformation- two most important agenda of July revolution is still a long way to go. Treatment of the July warriors has lost its track. One year on, wounds are not healed yet. The country is not going as we dreamed last August. The slow motion of justice and reformation is vague. King political parties are not interested in reformation. July genocide justice, comeback and ensuring justice of fugative former primer minister Hasina is unclear.
Extortion is becoming a great problem day by day. Attempt of counterrevolution is continuous. The terrorist and killer political party is still not banned.

There are lots of problems at present. And have lots of valid reasons too. The Hasina regime looted the country as much as they could. The interim government is not functioning as well as expected. Fascist Hasina is no more but lots of administration personnel recruited by her are still thriving. They are not co-operating with the interim government rather trying to fulfill their evil political motivation. The bureaucrats, the administrators, local administration is not working who are still dreaming to come back killer Hasina and discording the interim government. Police administration is still not active in full phase. Political parties are not so earnest in functioning the interim government properly. Political parties are busy with politics of election but less interested in reformation, justice and standing by the side of July uprising fighters.

Yeah, there are lots of problems in the newly independent country. But still we are well. And no matter what, there is no reason to say or justify that, ‘ Agei valo silam’. Literally it’s a betrayal with the blood of the July uprising Martyrs’ and the July Fighters’ . We were not good in the Hasina regime. Maybe we have lots of problems still but we can speak freely now, we don’t have to worship Mujib, we don’t feel like refugees in our own country as the previous Fascist government made us feel we are an outsider here and living in her personal or paternal property as a part of her generosity. Now the government pays heed to people a bit.

The young still believe that meaningful reforms can improve the political and economic situation. And importantly, they remain willing to engage if given a reason to believe that their engagement will make a difference. To close the gap between rhetoric and reality, future reforms must be visible, inclusive, and results-oriented. One thing we absolutely need to accomplish, as soon as possible, is bringing the fugitive former prime minister, Sheikh Hasina, to book. Political parties have to bear July in their heart. Justice and reformation must be treated as a priority to hold people’s faith. As a nation we are wound, we just want to move on and build a country that the Martyrs bloodshed for.
