Bangladesh national team cricketer Shahadat Hossain Rajib has been put on the three days remand in connection with a case of torturing their minor housemaid. Md Yusuf Hossain of Dhaka`s Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court granted the remand on Thursday. The national pacer surrendered to the court on Monday, a day after police arrested his wife Nitto Shahadat in the case. On September 6, Shahadat had filed a general dairy with Mirpur Police Station regarding his 11-year-old house help Mafuza Akter Happy going missing. Later in the evening the maid was rescued from city’s Pallabi area and taken to Mirpur Police Station. The maid, appeared to have a swollen black eye, had alleged that she was regularly tortured by Shahadat and his wife Nritto Shahadat while she was working at their house. Following her complaints, a local journalist filed a case against the national cricketer with the police station under Women & Children Repression Prevention Act. Police then started the process of arresting Shahadat Hossain. Later Police raided the house of the pace bowler and his wife but did not find the couple there. Police, however, are trying to arrest the pacer and his wife.
