Bangladesh, deciding to bat first, put up a colossal 326 for three – home team’s highest ODI total- in their 50-over quota against Pakistan in their Asia Cup tie on Tuesday. The hosts’ onslaught of 122 runs in the last ten overs and responsible batting from each Bangladeshi batsmen who came into bat helped them surpassed 300 mark. Mushfiqur Rahim and Shakib Al Hasan were unbeaten on 51 and 44 respectively, adding 77 off just 34 deliveries, at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. Mominul Haque was the last casualty for Bangladesh. He was gone after his third ODI fifty. A solid 150-run opening stand betwen Anamul Haque and Imrul Kayes, the best in the tournament, gave hosts a strong foundation. Anamul Haque brought up his second ODI hundred off 131 deliveries, smashing six fours and four sixes before he was sent back by Saeed Ajmal. Imrul added 59 before he was caught in a Mohammad Talha delivery.
