Today, we celebrate our 69th Independence Day with new zeal and vigour and with the conviction that this Day will be a harbinger of political, economic and social stability. The nation knows that during the last few years, regional and international developments have impacted Pakistan that gave rise to law and order issues and hampered economic development. However, no hurdle could withstand the strong resolve of the nation.
The Government of Pakistan displayed strong political will to purge all areas and cities from the menace of lawlessness, terrorism and extremism. The Pakistan Army and other law enforcement agencies are determined to establish peace in the country. Similarly, the government has adopted effective policies for economic turnaround. The business activities have picked up pace, generating investment opportunities for all, especially for the foreign investors. These changes augur well for our economic future.
With Chinese assistance, work on the economic corridor has started. This project will play a crucial role in our economic revival. We have achieved political stability due to consensus amongst all political parties. This is vivid proof of political maturity in the country and the beginning of a new era in Pakistan.
In this backdrop, I appeal to the nation to work in unison and avail these opportunities to realize the dreams of our founders; Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Muhammad Iqbal.
