Tigers- Pakistan 2nd ODI today
Motivated Bangladesh Cricket team will face off Pakistan Cricket team today in the second One Day International (ODI) cricket match at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the capital’s Mirpur.
The match will kick-off at 2:15pm (Bangladesh Standard Time). The game will be aired by private satellite sports channel T Sports from the match-venue.
Captain of Bangladesh Cricket team Mehidy Hasan Miraz will lead his side, while Captain of Pakistan Cricket team Shaheen Shah Afridi will lead his side.
The Tigers have passed a festive mood as the Tigers defeated Pakistan by eight wickets in the first ODI at the same venue on March 11. So, if Bangladesh win over Pakistan in the today’s match, Bangladesh will clinched the ODI series 2-0 remaining with one match.
On the other hand, if Pakistan will win in the today’s derby, Pakistan will keep their hopes alive.
In that case the result of the three-match ODI series will be decided in the third and final ODI. The last ODI will be held at the same venue on March 15.
It may be mentioned that young speedster Nahid Rana played the key role in demolishing Pakistan innings for just 114 runs.
Youngster Nahid Rana captured five wickets in the space of 24 runs. It was maiden five-wicket haul for Nahid Rana in his red-ball campaign.
After winning the first ODI against Pakistan, Nahid Rana said, ” Every wicket is special for me.
I think that whatever the wicket is, you should understand the wicket yourself and bowl according to what the wicket wants.”
On getting advice from seniors, Nahid said, “The captain had a plan, Shanto bhai also had a plan because they have been playing ODI cricket for a long time, they have a lot of experience.
Whenever I needed help on the field, I got it from them and there was Mustafiz bhai, there was Taskin bhai, they always supported me and this thing relieved me a lot of pressure.”
Speaking about playing on good quality wickets, the pacer said, “If there is a good quality wicket, the skills of both the batters and the bowler increase. Now there are sporting wickets or equal opportunity wickets all over the world.
If we get such wickets at home, we will not feel like we have not played on such wickets before when we go abroad.”
Nahid said about the loss of the Pakistan team, “May be they had a bad day on Wednesday.
As a player, I do not underestimate any team. Cricket is a game of target and ball, any team can turn around at any time.
In the next match, they may try to correct their mistakes with their skills and come back stronger. We will also try to maintain our good playing streak for a long time.”
Head Coach of Pakistan Cricket team Mike Hesson said, “There is no point in being ashamed, it is a very disappointing batting performance.
It is not only the youngsters who played badly, our skills did not come in handy in the face of good bowling and we were covered in shells. We have to turn around quickly.’
Expressing his determination to turn around, Hesson said, “The youngsters have to learn.
We have to be patient in the next matches and fight well. We have to think a little about Wednesday’s performance. I did not deny that we performed bad, we went into a hole in the batting.”
Hesson wants to turn things around in the next two matches, “Not just the youngsters, we all have to stand up and give a good performance in the batting. That will be our effort in the second and third ODIs.”
