Puja Chery hopes for a comeback with Domm

Dhallywood actress Puja Chery made her debut as a lead heroine in 2018 with the India-Bangladesh joint production film Noor Jahaan. She later won the hearts of audiences with her performance in Poramon 2 . Her acting in the film Dahan was also widely appreciated.

Later, she gained significant attention for starring opposite Shakib Khan in the film Golui. However, after that, Puja has not been able to regain momentum in her career. None of the films she has acted in since then have been commercially successful.

In 2020, her film Hridita was released. Later, Jinn was released in 2023, followed by Lipstick and Agontuk in 2024. Most recently, her film Tagar was released during Eid-ul-Adha last year. None of these films achieved notable success or generated much discussion.

Now Puja Chery is returning with a new challenge. Her upcoming film Domm is set to be released this Eid. Directed by Redoan Rony, the film will feature her opposite Afran Nisho. Chanchal Chowdhury has also acted in the movie.

Inspired by true events, Domm is essentially a survival drama. Among the films scheduled for release this Eid, many believe Puja Chery may attract attention through this project.

She was selected for the film through an audition and has also performed several action scenes in it. As a result, there is likely to be special attention on her among the Eid releases.

According to Puja Chery, the entire team worked very hard to make the film, and audiences will be able to feel that effort on screen. She also mentioned that Bangladeshi audiences have rarely seen films based on such events before.

Meanwhile, at the film’s muhurat ceremony, Puja hinted that once the project is completed, she may consider herself a more mature actress.
