Totini in a tale of love, revenge
This Eid, Tanjim Saiyara Totini will be seen in a different kind of story, where love, revenge, and complex family dynamics intertwine in the new drama “Jokhom.”
The special Eid-ul-Fitr drama is written and directed by Imraul Rafat, and its shooting has recently concluded. Totini plays the role of Raisa, a simple girl from a middle-class village family.
Being introverted by nature, she finds it difficult to mingle with others and rarely expresses her inner feelings openly. On the other hand, Parth, portrayed by Tawsif Mahbub, is a son of a well-to-do joint family. His family, including his parents, younger siblings, and relatives, are all lively and sociable.
When two people, raised in completely different environments with contrasting personalities, come together, conflicts, misunderstandings, and unexpected events naturally arise.
The story explores the tensions in relationships, the pull of love, and the responsibilities of family bonds, raising questions: who truly gets hurt in love? Is the wound only of the heart, or does it also affect one’s self-respect?
Speaking about the story of Jokhom, Imraul Rafat said, “It is primarily a story of revenge. However, the narrative also incorporates family bonds, love, marriage, household life, society, and oppression. Even though it is made for the small screen, the canvas is quite broad.”
