Emi, 2 others jailed over Mar 7 speech
A court in Dhaka on Sunday sent three people, including former Slogan 71 leader Sk Tasnim Afroz Emi, to jail in a case filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act for playing the historic March 7 speech of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman outside Shahbagh Police Station.
The other two accused are former Shahidullah Hall unit Chhatra League
secretary Md Asif Ahmed Shoikat and Abdul Al Mamun. Jewel Rana, a Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate, issued the order on Sunday, said prosecution Sub-Inspector Jinnat Ali.
According to the case details, the three were detained after they played the historic March 7 speech of Bangabandhu outside Shahbagh Police Station in the capital. They were later produced before the court, which ordered their jail custody under the Anti-Terrorism Act.
