BLACKPINK sets new album sales record in first week
South Korea’s popular K-pop girl group BLACKPINK has made history with the first-week sales of their new album.
The group’s third mini album, ‘Deadline’, has set a new record for the highest first-week sales in the history of K-pop girl groups.
According to statistics from Hanteo Chart, a platform that tracks album sales rankings, the album sold a total of 1,774,577 copies between February 27 and March 5.
This is about 230,000 copies more than the group’s previous album, Born Pink.
The album had already received around 1.9 mn pre-orders before its release. On the first day alone, it sold 1,461,785 copies.
